While immersing yourself deep into the culture of Ethiopia, we promise your taste buds will have a busy day in the office. On this popular tour, you will be presented with the challenge of baking the spongy bread injera with local mothers, experience a full Ethiopian coffee ceremony and learn to bargain with the savvy spice dealers in Africa’s largest open air market, Merkato.

Before Lunch:

• Atikilt tera – The biggest vegetable and fruit market in Addis Ababa located between the two largest market areas, piazza and Merkato
• Spice market, Merkato – the largest open air market in Africa
• injera baking challenge – Do you dare to bake injera perfectly? A group of expert women will be waiting for you

Lunch at Taitu Hotel:

• We take you to the oldest hotel in Ethiopia for a typical Ethiopian lunch experience

After Lunch:

• Sightseeing Addis Ababa’s mesmeric old town, Piassa, as we venture out to a city by the mountains called Sululta for the drinks part of the food tour
• Traditional coffee ceremony – You will get to see the entire coffee process in front of you, from roasting to enjoying a cup of coffee
• Sululta’s organic honeywine – You will get to taste the best honey-wine around Addis Ababa
